Harrowdown Hill (2015) is a project in progress and is part of the 'Drawing and Painting Archive' data collection project. Scientist and weapons expert David Kelly's body was found on Harrowdown Hill in Oxfordshire, 2 days after he appeared at the Foreign Affairs Select Committee on 15 July 2003 where he was questioned regarding comments to the press on the dubiousness of Iraq's possession of WMDs. Though ruled as suicide, this is much contested and some evidence points to his murder though the events have slipped from the public consciousness despite the ramifications of the original dossier which led to the second Iraq invasion which arguably has led to the further developments such as 9/11 and the formation of Isis.
The project has involved several trips to the site drawing, recording and filming accumulating data that will be translated into further work. Jilliene hopes to explore through these processes an emotional and personal connecting with Harrowdown Hill, elements of deception, discomfort and silencing.
